Notice on Applying for Living Outside University Dormitory

To related colleges:
The application for living outside university dormitory is launched from today. Please organize the students to apply through your college. The specific requirements are listed as follows
1. Student who applies for living outside university dormitory is required to go through the following application procedures.
Step 1 A written application with the following materials shall be submitted to the College in person:
1. A handwritten Application Form of CTGU International Students Living outside University Dormitory in quadruplicate;
2. Safety Commitment of CTGU International Students Living outside University Dormitory (in English) in quadruplicate;
3. Informed Consent from Parents (in English) in duplicate;
4. Photocopies of the student’s passport and residence permit in duplicate;
5. Original and photocopies of house-leasing contract and its notarial certificate in duplicate (The original will be returned after verification by the college);
6. Photocopies of the House Property Certificate or the House Purchase Contract in duplicate;
7. Photocopies of the Household Register and ID card of the landlord in duplicate.
Step 2 The college shall review the eligibility of the applicant (for details, please refer to Regulations of China Three Gorges University on the Management of Living Outside University Dormitory of International Students) and the application materials, and assign a specially-assigned person to carry out a security assessment of the rented housing. Only after passing the evaluation of application materials and security assessment, can the college provide the evaluation opinion with their endorsement.
Step 3 The Department of International Relations is authorized to approve the application.
Step 4 The Dormitory Management Office put on records the application.
2. Related requirements:
(1) The rented housing must be in residential quarter with standard security protection (technical protection, physical protection and personnel protection) measures. Basic requirements are:
a. There should be enough security guards in the residential quarter, especially at its entrance and exit. There should be a complete patrol system in the residential quarter.
b. There should be standard entrance and exit, complete video surveillance system and fire-fighting equipment (fire extinguisher, fire hose reel, etc.)
c. The main door of the rented housing should be security door.
d. There should not be possible security threats like mis-connection of electric wire, un-repair of doors and windows, ageing of electric wire, storage of inflammables and explosives (including but not limited to gas tank and honeycomb briquet), direct-gas-exhausting water heater, and under-ventilation, etc..
(2) Each college could decide its own deadline for accepting students’ applications according to the university’s deadline. All application which have passed the evaluation of application materials and security assessment shall be submitted to the Department of International Relations before 17:00 p.m. of September 10, together with a summary sheet.
(3) Students who have completed all the procedures are required to check out at the Dormitory Management Office and move out from the current dorm before 15:00 p.m. of September 12. Otherwise, accommodation fee will be charged.
